Understanding Credits
How the credit system works
What Are Credits?
Credits are the currency for using Dipflow's AI features. Each operation in the article generation process costs a specific number of credits.
This system gives you flexibility in how you use the platform. You can generate many short articles or fewer comprehensive ones - it's up to you.
Credit Costs
Here's what each operation costs:
| Operation | Credits | Description |
|---|---|---|
| SERP Research | 1 | Analyze top-ranking competitors |
| Title Generation | 5 | Generate title options |
| Research & Brief | 10 | Deep research on your topic |
| Topics & Outline | 15 | Create article structure |
| Content Writing | 20 | Write the full article |
| Extras | 10 | Takeaways and FAQ sections |
| Metadata | 5 | Tags and link suggestions |
| Visuals | 10 | Image prompts and descriptions |
| Image Generation | 15 | Per image created |
Credits are deducted when an operation starts, not when it completes. This ensures fair usage tracking.
Typical Article Cost
A complete article using all features costs approximately 100 credits. Here's the breakdown:
- SERP + Titles + Research + Topics + Content + Extras + Metadata + Visuals = 76 credits
- Main image = 15 credits
- 1-2 inline images = 15-30 credits
The actual cost varies based on how many images you generate and whether you regenerate any steps.
Ways to use fewer credits:
- Skip image generation if you have your own visuals
- Generate fewer inline images
- Accept first-generation results without regenerating
Checking Your Balance
View your current credit balance in the dashboard header or on the Subscription page. You'll see:
- Current balance - Credits available right now
- Subscription credits - Monthly credits from your plan
- Bonus credits - Extra credits from purchases
- Reset date - When subscription credits refresh
Subscription credits reset monthly on your billing date. Bonus credits don't expire - they stay in your account until used.
