Understanding projects, articles, and brand voices

Before diving deeper into Dipflow, it helps to understand the key concepts that organize your content creation workflow.

Projects

A project is a workspace for organizing related content. Think of it as a folder for a specific website, brand, or content initiative.

Common ways to use projects:

  • One project per website - Keep all articles for a site together
  • One project per client - If you manage content for multiple clients
  • One project per topic - Group related content campaigns

Each project can have its own default brand voice, so articles automatically inherit the right tone and style.

Articles

An article is a single piece of content you create. Each article goes through a generation pipeline with multiple steps:

  • Draft - Initial state when you enter a keyword
  • Research - Competitor analysis and source selection
  • Planning - Title selection and outline creation
  • Writing - Full content generation
  • Enhancement - FAQs, takeaways, and metadata
  • Visuals - Image generation
  • Completed - Ready for publishing

You can pause at any step, come back later, and pick up where you left off. Articles save automatically as you progress.

Brand Voices

A brand voice defines how your content sounds. It's a preset that controls:

  • Tone - Professional, casual, authoritative, friendly, etc.
  • Audience - Who you're writing for
  • Style guidelines - Specific instructions for the AI

You can create multiple brand voices for different purposes. For example, a "Corporate Blog" voice for professional content and a "Social Media" voice for more casual posts.

Brand voices ensure consistency. Once set up, every article automatically follows your brand guidelines without manual configuration.

Credits

Credits are the currency for using Dipflow. Each operation in the article generation process costs a certain number of credits:

  • SERP research uses credits for competitor analysis
  • Content generation uses credits based on article length
  • Image generation uses credits per image

Your subscription includes monthly credits that reset each billing cycle. You can also purchase additional credits if you need more.

Track your credit usage in the Subscription section of your dashboard. You'll see remaining credits and usage history.

How They Connect

Here's how these concepts work together:

  1. You create a project for your website or brand
  2. You set up a brand voice that matches your content style
  3. You assign the brand voice to your project (or select it per article)
  4. When you create an article, it inherits the brand voice
  5. Each step of article generation uses credits

This structure lets you manage multiple brands or websites efficiently while maintaining consistent quality and voice across all your content.
